This is just to make things easier for everyone for the first annual PSMtv Dark Souls Xbox 360 Tournament.
The applicants will all be posted here for the ease of finding out everyone who is competing in the tournament.

Hey I'm going to have to back out. I have a surprise visit from family... many sorries, but I don't think I'll be down for 7:00 anymore.

That is most unfortunate to hear.
Perhaps you can participate in the next tournament once this test one is successful.

We hope that everyone enjoyed participating and watching the tournament as much as I did.

We got a lot of laughs.
We saw a lot of different playstyles.
Although, the one thing I must say is that we didn't see a lot of problems with the tournament besides the connections.
Other than that, a lot of things ran more smoothly than the tournaments we usually hold.

Honestly, the connections weren't as bad as I thought they were gonna be. It usually fails twice and then you are good to go.

As a rule of thumbs for future FIGHT NIGHTS / TOURNAMENTS. We need to setup an hour or so before hand, and get everyone summoned in once to get the connectivity out of the way. With the way the lobbies/servers are working now, once your summoned ONCE. You are good until you shut off your 360.

I think the connections went fine. We had an issue summoning Jeff for a while, but eventually got him in.

The BIGGEST problem with the tournament was no-shows. This is gonna cripple a tournament. With that said, we will be introducing a "BLACK LIST" banning gamertags for ONE MONTH from events. Sorry, but if you don't show you are wasting a lot of peoples time, and I can't have that for our viewers/community.

Notifiying me within 24 hours is acceptable. I.E. OMNI and Slappy. Not showing up is entirely different.

Thanks to Ornstein for sub'n in for a "bye" / missing spot. If the tournament gets popular, which Soul wants to aim to do this weekly. We will have a qualify night to get into the tournament. I'd like to do no more than a typical 16 man bracket for future tourneys.


Oxide already threw it down, but congratulation to SOULINVADER for winning. I had a lot of fun casting it, and be on the look-out for new ARENA's in which we can fight in!

I *LOVED* the arena we used last night, but it has a huge problem for me that I saw. Sometimes the combatants clip below the wall if they are fighting below me... I cannot fix this at all unless I unequip the binocs and manually swing my camera down. So sometimes we miss some of the action. Other than that I think it went great, and people enjoyed watching some epic duels. Even if you aren't totally 100% into Dark Souls... I think we can all agree that watching highly skilled people fight, is extremely entertaining.

We gathered a ton of feedback on how stuff should flow, and what items should be banned. One thing that got nailed in the coffin that I can hit immediately is HORNET RING is now banned from all tournaments, unless we hold a special one allowing it.

I also heard some complaints about how they kept targeting you by accident when fighting.
Is there a way to fix this as well?

One person in particular complained about that. The short answer: no. They will just have to be smart about how they lock on, adjusting their camera and whatnot.

If I am in their field of vision when they unsnap and snap back-onto a target, it may select me instead. This affects the RED phantoms, not white.

For the most part in that Blighttown arena, anyway, it shouldn't be too big of an issue.

So wouldn't one way to combat that is to have a switch-off of who is the white phantom and who is the red phantom?

Honestly. Its better if we stay pure red imo. This is something we all need to discuss as a community. I saw one person complain about it and almost acted like they lost due to it. Keeping max range it shouldnt be too big of a problem if the fighter knows how to pivet his camera correctly. I think in other arenas this will be a non-issue.

But absolutely. That is something we COULD do. Swap out between rounds. But then again. If someone enters the tourney outside the optikal coop range of my level.. It forces them to be a red phantom..

So I'm guessing we could have brackets of people within level ranges if this truly becomes popular.
